What have you done lately to get more sales?

March 29, 2008

It’s puzzling to me when I come across home based solopreneurs who are stomped at the fact that their sales aren’t increasing. And when I ask them what did you do last week to generate more sales, they look at me with this puzzled expression on their face and say “Nothing!”

Aha… no wonder sales aren’t increasing! You should do something everyday that promotes your business, whether you’re big or small. Anheuser Busch, Coors, McDonalds or any of the Big Boys wouldn’t dare go a day without taking some kind of action to sell more stuff.

You see, sales come from taking action. They don’t have to big things. Action can come in any of the following forms: sending out sales letters, making phone calls, posting to forums, answering questions on forums, sending text or twitter messages, networking on the many social media sites currently available. (I’ll be talking more about marketing through social media sites in the future.)

So, my key take-away is you have to take action daily, by some means, to get your phone ringing or have inquiries arriving in your inbox.

The points that I’ll be making in this blog will be centered around how to utilize ‘direct response’ marketing and copywriting techniques to take action and get more sales quicker. So stay tuned.

My first attempt at blogging

March 28, 2008

OK my friends, I’ve finally given in to the urge to blog. I’ve been watching others for what seems like an eternity. I’ve watched to see what topics folks blog about – and they seemed endless. It always appeared that the blogger was blogging on a topic that really interested him/her.

So, that’s what I’m going to do also. Since I’m a direct response copywriter and marketing strategist, my blog is going to revolve around the subject of how to effectively advertise with the ultimate goal being to get the reader/prospect to act now – not later.

In other words, I don’t help clients create a ‘brand.’  I help them sell their goods and services right now. That’s what I’ll be talking with you about in this blog. I’m going to share what I know, plus I’m going to invite some of my colleagues along to help out.

This should be both fun and profitable for you as a frequent visitor. How often will I post – good question.

Simply stated it will be as often as I have something to share that I feel will be valuable to you as a marketer. With that said, you’ll want to subscribe to my RSS feed so that you’ll know when I’ve deposited some words of wisdom/profit for you to read and use.

Enough said for now. I’ll be back when something hits me. But I’d like to have a few profitable tips for you at least 2 – 4 times per week. Anyway, let’s see how it goes.
